DRV8802: limit the start-up current

Hello,

Our customer use the DRV8802.

The customer limit the start-up current.

When the current hits the current chopping threshold, the current flow reverse in a moment.

What is this?

Hi Aoyama-san,

What is the current level in the image?

Is there a capacitor in the motor? This would explain the higher current as the capacitor is charged and discharged.

Hello Rick-san,

I checked the current level.
The value of the current regulation is 0.5A and peak current is +/-0.7A.
The customer don't use an external capacitor.

Do you need any other information?

Hi Rick-san,

I met the customer last week.
The customer drive a brushed DC motor.
So, the reverse current is due to BEMF.
