DRV8871: DRV8871 as Latching Solenoid Driver

Is there any reason why the DRV8871 could not be used as a latching solenoid driver for a part such as the Ledex B17-L-155-B-3?

A full H-bridge driver is required as it is necessary to produce a reverse polarity pulse to unlatch the solenoid.

Hi Brian,

No reason. Any full bridge device can be used to perform this function assuming the voltage and current is met.

There are other devices available that may work better from a system point of view. For example the DRV8823 can be used to control four latching solenoids instead of one.
