UCD90320: LGPO Response Time and Hardware Comparator

Part Number: UCD90320

Hi Team,

What is the typical and max response time for an LGPO to assert based on a UV Warn condition? The AMON channels are monitored every 400us but wondering about the LGPO response time range.

The hardware comparator (N/A) feature is greyed-out in Fusion tool. Is this not a supported feature by the UCD90320?

Trying to use an LGPO to a buck but the response time looks to be several milliseconds. What would be the fastest way to do this?

Thank you,

TR

  • Hi

The hardware comparator is not available on the UCD90320. The AMONS are sampled every 400us and the LGPO is evaluated every 100us.

Does you customer want to shutdown the rail when it has U fault. if so, you can use fault response.

Please refer the attached slides. 3806.UCD90xxx Quick Guide.pptx

  • Hi Yihe,

The customer is trying to use the UV warn of the input 12V for the LGPO logic that asserts the EN to a buck (part of dying gasp). The several milliseconds is seen from when the 12V decays to the UV warn level (configured at 11.3V) till when he sees the EN assert.

  • Hi

Do you mean de-assert the EN?

Do they have any delays set on the LGPO? it shall not be several milliseconds if there is no delay on the LGPO?

Can you provide the project file?

have they tried to use the fault responses of the 12V to shutdown all rails as mentioned in the quick guide?

  • Hi

Per email communication. this issue has been closed.

The UV_WARNING detection is at much slow interval since warning has low priority. So if customers want to achieve a fast reaction from rail status to LGPO, please change the logic to use NOT_POWER_GOOD instead of using UV_WARNING.
