TL2575-05: TL2575-05 not powering up in new design

Part Number: TL2575-05

I have design that is using the TL2575-05 switcher and the part is not delivering 5V on the output pin.  I'm getting about 85mV and the device is getting hot.  The board is 2 layer design with the traces on the top layer and the botton layer is a ground plain.   When looking at the top layer traces picture, the power connector is on the lower right.  Pin 1 is the VCC in and ground is the upper two sets of pins on that connector.  The upper and lower long edges of the board are ground, the TAB on switcher U1 is tied to ground also.  Referencing the schematic you'll find the 680uH inductor and diode D3 above the switcher.   I don't have the BOSA Pin diode installed on the board and the current draw is about 40ma without it.  I tried adding a 250 ohm load resistor just to pull current and that no effect on this design.  I'm hoping someone will have some ideas.   D-1324 REV A_SCH.PDF

  • Hi Bruce,

Does this happen on multiple boards or just one?

Can you send waveforms of VIN, OUTUT and FEEDBACK?

    Thanks, Jason

  • We can stop working on this, I apologize and as many times as I looked at D3 I thought it was installed properly.  It wasn't until I walked away for a day and soldered leads on the pins to attach scope probes for pictures that it actually registered.  Thanks for your reply and I'm all set.
