Design help required using TL2575 switching regulator

Hi,

I wish to design a Dc-DC voltage converter with TL2575 Switching regulator. My  Input voltage min is 12 V ,Vin  maximum  is 20V and Output voltage is 5V with an output current of 1A. Can anyone help with a circuit design for this conversion using TL2575.?

Can i put Tantalum capacitors for the input capacitor and output capacitor ,instead of the recommended Aluminium Electrolytic caapcitors in the datasheet?

Regards

  • Hello Ajish,

The sample circuit, figure 1 in the data sheet, should work well. A Tantalum input capacitor will work if it is rated for the ripple current and holds its capacitance over the application temperature range. Tantalum output capacitors work if the capacitors ESR is not too low which could lead to loop instability (oscillation).

I do not have any specific information beyond the application information found in the data sheet.
