BQ25890H: Capacitance value(Min/Max) on PMID pin

Dear team,

Is there any recommendation regarding Capacitance value(Min/Max) on PMID pin?

At datasheet, Recommended C1 = 8.2 μF (OTG ≤ 1.8 A) or 20 μF (OTG ≤ 2.4 A)

but my customer don't use OTG mode. Is there any side effect mismatch capacitance value on PMID pin?

The schematic checklist should help with this:

There should be at least 1uF on VBUS, the rest should be on PMID.

Hello,

At schematic checklist, there is only min 8.2uF value. but there is no max value.

1. Is there any max limit on this value? If yes, please let me know max value.

2. If there is max value, when the customer use a bigger value then max value, Is there any side effect?

3. If we don't use OTG function, What is the role of a capacitance on PMID?

Hello,

There is no maximum value, just follow the recommendations from the checklist and data sheet depending on your load.

PMID capacitance is still needed for VBUS stability if you don't use the OTG function.
