LM5122: SEEKING A LI-ION BASED BOOST CONVERTER 5V IN, 48V OUT @ 2A 96W

Part Number: LM5122

Hello,

I have been asked to design a boost converter that has the following attributes:

Vin= MIN 5.25V, MAX 16V; (PREFERABLY WORKING AT LOWER INPUT VOLTAGES FROM 4S LI-ION BATTERIES IN SERIES/PARALLEL.)

Vout = MIN 46V, MAX 52V @2A. NOMINALLY 48V@ 2a , 96W.

I noticed that your PMP7966 POWER SOLUTION FOR AN AUTOMOTIVE FUEL INJECTOR reference design may work under these conditions. It doesn't appear that you offer a demo circuit for this part and PSPICE won't run for lack of a simple SPICE library part (CD4017BM96).

WEBDESIGN2 did produce a simulation based on 1 chip and 1 inductor however the inductor was too big for the allotted real estate.

Design requirements call for the boost converter to run for 30 seconds cycles followed by a long (hours) rest period so I thought I could run the PMP7966 configuration on 2 channels instead of 4 to reduce the board's footprint.

Is this viable?

Can you suggest another chip that actually has a demo board I can test?

Time is of the essence.

Regards,

Jorge
