LM2587: LM2587-ADJ flyback circuit with dual outputs(+15V/1Amp, -15V/1Amp)

Dear Sir,

I found that there is a reference circuit that matches our requirements. it is a flyback circuit and output +15V /1Amp, -15V/1Amp. But it is difficult to get the transformer (RL-2582). Do you have any other substitutes for this transformer, RL-2582. This is urgent for us.

Besides the transformer, I hope to get its design parameters and equations.

Hello Jim,

RL-2582 is from Renco. Normally replacement types could be Pulse PE-65302 or AIE 330-0203.

BTW, which reference design are you referring to?

Hi Jim,

A few things to note in this schematic:

1) Output should be sensed from VOP1. It is not marked clearly on the schematic.

2) Compensation network will need to be checked on the bench

3) Add space for input and output bulk capacitor alongside ceramic capacitors. Addition of bulk capacitor is for load transient conditions.

4) Flyback transformer does not appear to be marked properly on schematic, but for the positive rail- the dot notation should be closest to GND; and for the negative rail- the dot notation closest to cathode of diode. Please double check the inductor to make sure this is correct. Please see figure 26 of LM2587 datasheet for reference on the flyback transformer polarity.
