TPS73233-EP: TPS73233-EP

Part Number: TPS73233-EP

We are facing issue in 3.3V Regulator in MCU board, Output what we are getting is 0.5V less than input voltage.

For ex. For Input voltage of 4.3V We are getting the output of 3.8V.

Above is the circuit and we have not populated C2 here.

Can you please help us to resolve the issue.

Note: Pin number 3 & 6 is grounded.

  • Hello,

Can you try removing C3 and check if the output accuracy issue is fixed? This will worsen the noise performance, but for testing purposes I would like to verify that the C3 capacitor does not have too much leakage current and causing the accuracy issue.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • We have tested by removing same. Still the output voltage is 0.5V less than Input voltage. When we give the Input voltage 5V we are getting output 4.51V

Why output voltage is coming more than 3.3V.

Attached the image with regulator part number.

  • Hello,

This sounds like the part is damaged because the part is not regulating. Have you tried replacing with a new part? If you have new parts to put on to test, try capturing the input voltage (as well as the output voltage) to the device with an oscilloscope when you first power the board. I wonder if the input voltage is exceeding the abs max rating on power up and damaging the part.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Thanks Nick for your Inputs, we have replaced the same part in bare board and tested . It is working fine. Without regulator also in the board assembled output voltage is same as the Input voltage. But in bare board we are not getting short.

There may be some issue with Assmebly. We will find and resolve the issue.

    Thanks,
