Hi Sir,

1. as below the figure, about θJA and θJC, does θJA =129.5°C/W, θJC=103.9°C/W represent the value of IC monomer?

2. for general test IC on board thermal simulation, should bring in the θJA and θJC value of JEDEC or the θJA and θJC values of EVM?

    Kindly see my response as highlighted in blue. For further details on IC thermal resistance metrics, please refer to the attached app note.

    1. as below the figure, about θJA and θJC, does θJA =129.5°C/W, θJC=103.9°C/W represent the value of IC monomer? --> Both thermal resistance parameters are based on the Jedec standard.

    2. for general test IC on board thermal simulation, should bring in the θJA and θJC value of JEDEC or the θJA and θJC values of EVM? --> To calculate for junction temperature of the IC without heatsink, use the equation below. You can either use the Jedec or EVM values because the difference is not significant.

    where:

    Tj: junction temperature

     JT: Junction to Top package parameter 

              Power: IC power dissipation
