We plan to use TPS23751 for POE power supply design. Our design needs to meet 12W output, meet the protection requirements of common mode 6KV and differential mode 2KV. Our design refers to PMP20220

Please help to check whether the type selection of schematic peripheral devices and the design principle meet the design requirements of TPS23751 FG360P-ODU POE 1215.pdf

Hello Jingbo,

Please use the PoE Schematic Review Guide to review the design.

We have a PD Surge Application note that shows where to place surge protection: Lightning Surge Considerations for PoE Powered Devices

Additionally, we made a 6kV PSE reference design. Please use the MOVs and TVS parts in this design for our recommendation for parts that can withstand 6kV. Use these parts in the places in the PD surge application note. Does that make sense?

Thank you very much for your guidance. I still have two questions, our scheme does not use external MUC and adapter for power supply. Can APD be directly connected to PWRGND(RTN) and T2P be directly suspended

Hello,

If there is no MCU, yes T2P can be left floating. APD can also be directly connected to RTN (ground) if there is no primary adapter power.
