UCC28720: Lower inductance

Part Number: UCC28720

At the top of page 19 of the datasheet, there is a formula that calculates Ls. Is the value of Ls critical? Can it be less than what is calculated?
Because the value found is very high (8mH while transformers good for a similar power supply are 1 or 2mH), which makes the choice of transformer complicated.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi, Maynard:

    Thanks for asking.

Would you mind to share your system spec?

The Lp could be higher or lower based on the calculation. However, it is much different from 8mH to 2mH.

So maybe I could share some idea according to the system requirement and parameters setting.

    UCC28720 calculator

Please download this calculator as above, and key in the parameters that you used, and share it to me.

We could check if the Lp could be optimized more than before.
