BQ78350-R1: Max Error 100%

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Hi.

We got new battery from our supplier in a shut down mode.

We woke up the battery with 5 sec charge process.

The Max Error was 100%, and state of charge 42%

We discharge the battery to EDV2 value but still Max Error remains 100%.

What can be the reason ?

The bit register  FIXED_EDV0 is "1" and the bit register EDV_CMP is "0". does it effect the MAX ERROR behavior ?

What is the purpose of the "Requested Learning cycle count" [ CEDV cfg ] ?

  • Hi Nati,

For the Max Error to be updated (it will change from 100% to 2%), there must be a full qualified discharge after a full charge. Section 9.1.6 of the TRM describes all of the conditions that must be met for a qualified discharge. After a qualified discharge is successfully completed, the Learned Full Charge capacity will be updated along with the Max Error.

    Best regards,

    Matt
