TPS62826: During hiccup mode, I am still able to draw power

Part Number: TPS62826

Hello,

I was testing the hiccup mode for this chip on the evaluation board. I was able to trigger it by applying 3.9A with a CC mode E-load.

However, it seems that after hiccup mode starts triggering, the E-load is reading that it is drawing 1.36A at 0.0573V. Is this just the average power being drawn during the hiccup mode peaks?

  • Hi Jerome,

    Thanks for posting your queries.

The current displayed in the E-load should be the average short circuit current. And this is as expected because the output current is not constant when the device goes into hiccup mode. Please refer to the figure below.

I hope I was able to address your queries.

    Best regards,

    Excel
