EV2400: Power management forum

Part Number: EV2400

Hi Team,

Our customer has been using this device for less than half a year, and now there have been three damaged ones. Please see attached photo for reference:

1. The light is on, but there is no communication.
data pin: 0.58V
clock pin: 3.18V

2. The light is off and there is no communication.
data pin: -0.05v
clock pin: -0.06v

3. The light is off and there is no communication.
data pin: 0.09V
clock pin: 0.06V

The customer purchased 6 EV2400s through TI's official website last August 2021 and only started using them in October 2021, but now three have been directly damaged. Is it a product quality problem similar to this

I hope you can help

Regards,

Marvin

  • Hello Marvin,

All EV2400 are tested before being shipped.

The EV2400 can be damaged by ESD or current flowing back through the communication lines from a bad connection on the BMS board or external  pullups that exceed 3.3V.

If 3 of the EV2400s are dead then please check your setup and connections. Which device is it being used with?
