In the BQ40Z50 datasheet, it is suggested to us a second level protector for the cells:
For example, the bq294700.
I don't understand why, since the BQ40Z50 has the knowledge about each connected cell voltage, so it can disconnect the FETs in case of an OV or UV fault. We are designing a system around the BQ40Z50 and I would like to take this under account.
