TPS23881: AUTO pin in TPS23881EVM schematic

Part Number: TPS23881
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS23880

Hi,

Q1: I have noticed that pin 52 of TPS23881 is an AUTO pin in the schematic of TPS23881EVM, and it can be connected to different values of pull-down resistor through J5 in parallel with a 0.01uF capacitor (C12).

However,  the pin 52 in TPS23881's datasheet is a NC pin.

Why do we need to pull-down resistor in parallel with a 0.01uF on pin 52? I thought TPS23881 needs SRAM to be loaded in order to pass compliance test.

Q2: Does the host controller need to send the I2C command to control TPS23881 in real-time, or the I2C is only used for loading the SRAM? The host controller and I2C control commands are not required during the operation.

(I probably should read the datasheet more before asking this questions)

Thank you for your help.
