TPS650861: TPS65086100RSKT

Part Number: TPS650861
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65400

Hi Team,

We are currently using TI's TPS65086100RSKT PMIC for our running project (block diagram attached PMIC_1).

We would like to know if any equivalent alternate part is available to use since the actual part has more lead time and non-stocked.

Also, we would like to know if any higher capability PMIC IC which can be used for our new design (block diagram attached PMIC_2) which requires additional 3x buck resource compared to TPS65086100RSKT.

Your earlier response would be grateful to proceed with our design activity.  Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Jeyakumar,

Based on the load currents shown in these block diagrams we do not have any other devices that would be a good fit. Depending on your sequencing requirements there may be a TPS650864x OTP variant that would be a fit. TPS650864x is the same silicon as TPS650861, however it comes with the OTP pre-programmed with default settings.

As for the second block diagram, I would recommend looking at TPS65400 to add as a second device paired with TPS650861.

    Best regards,

  • Hi Layne J,

Thanks for your reply and suggestions.

Could you please let me know whether TPS650864x can be reprogrammed as per our sequencing requirements? Please share the procedure to update the configuration/sequencing. Kindly share the complete orderable part number for TPS650864x.

Any possibility to get the TPS65086100RSKT PMIC from TI?

For the second block diagram, Whether these two PMICs (TPS65400 & TPS650861) will work with Master and Slave configuration? Is it possible to get some block diagram for the usage of TPS65400 with TPS650861. Thanks in advance.

    Regards,
    Jeyakumar

  • Hi Jeyakumar,

We do not support reprogramming TPS650864x devices as these devices utilize one time programming (OTP). I am also unable to help with sample requests, I would recommend reaching out to your TI Sales representative and they can assist on this topic.

TPS650861 and TPS65400 are not specifically designed to work together but using one of the GPO pins on the TPS650861 you should be able to control the enable pins of the TPS65400 device. I do not have any specific block diagrams available unfortunately.

    Best regards,

    Layne J
