TPS61288: Difference between TPS61288 and TPS61288L

Hello TI experts,

I am checking TPS61288 for my customer. and I saw 2 part names; TPS61288 and TPS61288L.

the different is just HotRod and HotRod Lite. and TPS61288L is recommended with thermal improvement.

But I cannot find more information about difference.

1. What should I do If I want to use TPS61288L? should I focused to layout more for thermal improvement?

2. Can I use TPS61288 which is designed for TPS61288L?

3. if you have a document about thermal improvement for HodRod Lite, please send it to me.

    Hi Chase,

    TPS61288L has QFN package with HotRodTm Lite option, the cost is reduced in factory. But the two devices have same pin map and package, and is the same in application.

    For customer's application, there will be no difference as well, Lite version just has improved craftsmanship in process. The thermal characteristics is also the same for layout.
