Hi team,
if I set input current limit 3.25A,
does this mean if input current is over 3.25A ( in without battery condition), the output will drop ?
If yes, what would trigger charger stop switching ? Vout<2.4V?

Hi Tiger,
I have one question, if input current set 3.5A,
if input current is limited to 3.5A, how and why would it still possible to trigger OCP threshold 15A?
please , it's not the same question as the other forum
Regards,
Fred
Hi, Fred,
When input current limit is enabled, it is very hard to raise the input current beyond the current limit, assuming you have the battery to supplement the system load step. However, when the battery is removed, the system load transient will show up on the input side. It may pass the ICRIT current level or ACOC level.
Regards,
Tiger
HI Tiger,
per checked , the ACOC is not enabled all the time, so I don't think it's the reason it stop switching.
any idea what else could cause it stop switching
One scenario, when the system load exceeds the input current limit, the system voltage will collapse without battery support. The system voltage drops below SYS_UVP threshold and report a fault. The converter stops switching and restarts.
Hi Tiger,
where does SYS_UVP described in the datasheet, is it short hiccup protection?
as far as I know the shut down duration in my case is about 180ms, which is not as long as 500ms , so I don't think it's the hiccup mode cause that
SYS_UVP fault is different from short circuit hiccup protection. It may not be in the datasheet.
Hi Tiger,
would you elaborate it if it's not in the datasheet,
or give me the related material
thanks
It is mentioned in the SYS_SHORT. When VSYS is short to lower than 2.4V, the charger enters hiccup mode.
Hi Tiger,
but like I said, this kind of shut down takes 500ms , but in my waveform, shutdown only about 180ms...
is there any other cause?
