BQ24610: BQ24610 without adapter when the battery insert BQ24610 damage

The customer test with the BQ24610 board which they designed. They test the board without adapter then insert the battery, find the chip and current sense resister are damage.

Attached the schematic for your reference.

Please give some suggestions.

Hello Star,

The customer needs to protect against the inrush current from hot plug of the battery. Please read the application report below about inrush current. Increasing input capacitance comes at the cost of higher inrush current. The report also details several ways to mitigate it. In addition I have attached a report about protecting your power path. Please use the below guidance to protect the battery connection upon hot plug.
