BQ2419XEVM: Connections of BQ2419x EVM and EV2400

Part Number: BQ2419XEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: EV2400

Hi Team,

I understand from the thread below that the BQ2419x EVM works with USB-to_GPIO, EV2300 or EV2400.

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management-group/power-management/f/power-management-forum/772459/bq24195-bq24195/2857127

Our customer would like to know how to connect the EV2400 to the BQ2419x EVM. The BQ2419x EVM has 6 pins while the EV2400 has 4 pins. Should we connect SDC, SCL and VSS/Ground only?

Regards,

Danilo

  • HI Danilo,

Yes, if using the EV2300 or EV2400 instead of the USB-to_GPIO you will need to connect the SDA,SCL,VSS/GND only. You could also connect the VOUT2 as a power rail for the I2C pull-up if needed. Keep in mind the software GUI for the BQ2419x_GUI software is only compatible with the USB-to_GPIO, so if using the EV2400 or any other controller, you would not be able to control the EVM with the BQ2419x_GUI.
