Hello Team ,

Can arduino board be used to read and write the registers of bq34z100 placed on its evaluation board instead of EV2400 USB adapter ?

Can bq34z1000 evaluation board readily monitor LiFePO4 and PbA chemestries ? Datasheet says "This evaluation module (EVM) is a complete evaluation system for the bq34z100 wide-range fuel gauge for lithium ion, Nickel metal hydride (NiMH) and Nickel Cadmium (NiCd) chemistries when combined with an EV2300 USB adapter and Microsoft® Windows® based " . It does not mention PbA chemistry .

Hello Rohan,

The Arduino board can be used to read and write registers of bq34z100. Reading and writing registers is sufficient if you already went through the process of creating a golden image and have programmed it. You will need EV2300 or EV2400 to write the chemistry data and create the golden image. In summary, you will need a EV2x00 for designing the solution but don't need one for production.

We recommend programming(upgrading) the bq34z100-G1 firmware into the bq34z100 EVM prior to configuring it.
