TPS65220: LDO3 Cout

Part Number: TPS65220
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SK-AM64B, , TPS65219

Hi team,

The maximum value of Cout for LDO3 is 30uF, but a total of 19.3uF is used in the SK-AM64B circuit.

Is it possible for LDO3 to become unstable?

  • Hi,

Thanks for your patience! The AM64B SK EVM uses TPS6522053 which has LDO3 configured for "slow ramp". This configuration allows a maximum of 30uF total capacitance (local + point of load).

    Thanks,

    Brenda

  • Hi Brenda,

Thanks, I understood that LDO3 is set to slow ramp.
Where can I find other register settings for TPS6522053?

    Best Regards,

  • Hi,

The default NVM register settings for each or the TPS65219 or TPS65220 variants can be found in their corresponding Technical Reference Manual (TRM) which will be available in the product folder at ti.com, under technical documentation. I have attached the preliminary TRM for TPS6522053Please note this device has not been released yet so all the information provided is preliminary and subject to change without notice. However, we do not anticipate any changes. Once the device is released, all customers should refer to the online TRM located on product folder at ti.com and not the document provided by E2E prior to release.

Let us know if you have any questions or need additional information.
