BQ79600EVM: How can I wake up 79616 through 79600?

Part Number: BQ79600EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ79600-Q1, USB2ANY

Hello,

I have a 79600EVM and a 79616 board. I wake up 79600 as shown in the picture. The LED light on the 79600 board will be on, but the light on the 79616 is not on, so my question is can I wake up 79616 by doing this?

  • Hi,

It looks like you are sending one wake up ping. To wake up the 616 in stack you should send two wake pings. The GUI also gives you more options for waking up devices in stack if you look in the "communications" tab. If this does not work, make sure that you can communicate with the 616 EVM directly (connect the 616 EVM to a PC by itself as a base device).

    Best,

    Nancy

  • Hi Nancy,

    Thank you for your reply!

I do the steps as the "bq79600-q1" said: ; I can wake up 79600 and 79616 via usb2any in SPI mode, but I can not wake up 79616 via my  MCU's SPI, even my MCU' SPI data is the same as the usb2any's. Have you meet this situation before?

    Best wishes!

  • Shen,

This is common so there is a very specific timing sequence described in our app note (bq79600 wake up procedure) in mySecureSW. Do you already have access to mysecure to read over this document and ensure the MCU SPI is operating exactly as intended?

    Regards,

    Taylor
