TPS53626: About the TPS53626 IMON pin

Part Number: TPS53626

Please answer the following questions about the TPS53626 IMON pin.

1. The RIMON resistor is connected to the IMON pin. Is this constant related to the OCP current value (threshold)?
2. Is the IMON pin used only for monitoring the current value?
3. If the IMON pin is not used, what should be the resistance value of RIMON?

  • Hi Katsumi,

    1. Pin 12 is for OCP. It is the voltage divider for the IMON pin. The resistor ratio is used to set the current monitor gain for V_IMON.

R_OCP is connected from OCP pin to GND to select the desired OCP and R_IMON is connected in between IMON pin and OCP pin.

    2. Yes, the IMON pin is used as the analog current output monitor.

    3. The IMON pin should still be used to set the voltage divider for the OCP. There should also be a capacitor of at least 4700 pF connected to GND from the IMON pin.

  • Hello Ryan Chen
    Thank you for your reply.

Is the OCP setting related only to ROCP?
Does the OCP threshold change depending on the RIMON setting?

  • Hi Katsumi,

The OCP setting is only related to the R_OCP value.

    Best,

    Ryan
