Hello sir,

Are there some reference circuits to enhance MOSFET drive ability? My customer wants to achieve 30A output current of LM25141. I used calculation tool to find the efficiency is so low because of higher SYNC MOSFET Loss.

Hi Wenting,

You can use the quickstart calculator to check power losses. What are your operating conditions (Vin, Vout, Fsw)? Feel free to send me a quicktart file to look over.

If you're using the LM25141-Q1 42V controller, then 40V FETs should be fine. Take a look at the LM25149 EVM for OptiMOS6 FETs from Infineon as an example (these are Q grade as well). Note the FETs must be logic level with Rdson rated at Vgs = 4.5V (this shouldn't be an issue as most 40V FETs meet this criteria).
