TPS62903: EN=High to start switching delay time

Part Number: TPS62903

Hello,

Our customer has a plan to evaluate 2 TPS62903 tracking start up and I tested the tracking performance by simulation as the attachment.

It works but the customer has a question if there are turn on time gap between two TPS62903. Even though we know Tdelay 1.4ms max in the specification but we do not know how large Tdelay difference in any two TPS62903s have. Could you tell us how we can expect the Tdelay time difference.

best regards,

  • The electrical characteristics table characterizes the typical and max for a single unit only. In your case for the ratiometric sequencing, for the top converter, you can use a SS cap as shown in Figure 8-4 in datasheet and connect VOUT2 to SS/TR of bottom converter via the resistor divider to achieve the required VOUT2 in this case 0.6V. On the bottom converter, the EN high to SW high could be delayed as much as 1.4ms worst case before VOUT2 starts to come up. You can design your sequencing around that worst case number to ensure the rails come up as per your timing requirements.

    Thanks,
    Amod
