TI BQ40Z50-R2 Q&A.docx

  • Hello xiaofu,

The value in the Class Subclass is the default that is loaded to the register. Only register values are written for RemainingCapacityAlarm.

Serial number is intended to be used as read only. The value is set in data memory and not written through registers.

The normal procedure is to retry reading of a register on error.

If you are seeing so many errors, then please check the connections, pullups, noise and whether there is any other device on the bus that is causing collision in communication.

  • Hello xiaofu,

Device reset will clear all RAM values, this means FCC, RemCap, SOC, etc will all be recalculated based on the voltage at that time we do a correlation for voltage to DOD based on the chem ID under the assumption the voltage is relaxed. Reset should never occur during normal operation of the gauge and can cause gauging issues depending on when it is sent.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
