UCD3138A: (New) programming problem with production run

Into production and suddenly I'm unable to program our power boards. As far as I know, the UCD3138A is unchanged (checking to verify this and get very specific part numbers).

Details below:

Board(s, we've tried 2 of 20 now and got same results)
Board turn-on procedures as previous. UCD3138A gets proper power.
Using the UCD3xxx Device GUI to program.
Hit "Scan for Device in ROM mode"

This is the SAME message we always had previous revisions (development and first production run).
In "Firmware Download" interface when hitting Download after selecting file.

This is very new, and I can't seem to think of a way around it. This firmware is LOCKED and really cannot be changed at this point (post certification and review from multiple branches).

* The "Error" message is completely new. This firmware is certified through testing, approved by multiple military groups. It MUST NOT BE CHANGED. Please help, as this is urgent!

Might have moved this forward. Deep dive into purchasing and production shows that this production run is with UCD3138RHAR instead of UCD3138Axxxx. I'm assuming purchasing was told that these 2 parts are like-for-like. Which they are...except for the firmware. CCS6 I know differentiates between the target being UCD3138 and UCD3138A does it not? Thoughts? Solutions? I'm going to start working my way through building the project code for the UCD3138. But again, this is supposed to be LOCKED code.

Keeping this as UNRESOLVED.

Hello,

The error message says that the firmware is for UCD3138A, but the connected device is UCD3138(non-A). They are pin to pin, but have some differences. This documentation describes the details.

One option I think may be necessary is to look through those details and see if your current firmware satisfy those differences.

Thank you for the reply and the linked document. Does TI have the same document but for moving FROM UCD3138A -> UCD3138? I'm trying to basically do this on the fly, but so far the code compiles and links, but does NOT run; simply returns to ROM mode so must have a time-out failure??
