Hi support team.

Our customer would like to use as source(provider).

However, they have used the tool to make the necessary settings and are not getting the desired output 27W(9V).

From the voltage waveform it looks like the negotiation is failing.

This EVM can achieve 27W/9V output at the source, right?

I would like you to check if there are any mistakes in the BIN file, but I cannot attach the file.
how do i do that?

Could you provide your project file? Go to Export Settings --> save file (it will be a .json file)

I cannot attach a .json file here using the Insert function. Could you tell me how to attach it?

No matter how many times I try, the file won't attach.
Is it possible to get a setting file (.json) that can confirm 27W/9V with EVM?

Hi Daisuke-san,

1- Your configuration settings are fine. Yes, you can source 27W/9V with the CHG-EVM.

2- Since you set the battery charging voltage to 16.8V, please make sure to connect the J3 pins (4S). Also, make sure to connect your battery to J2 not J1. (See below)

3- How are you flashing the device? This EVM cannot be flashed directly from the GUI. You would need to generate the full flash binary image and flash using an Aardvark for example.

Hi Aya-san

Our customer has checked and implemented everything according to your instructions, but it does not work at 27W/9V settings.

However they have confirmed that there is no problem with 15W/5V.

I don't understand why the negotiation with the sink ends in the middle when I set it to 27W/9V.

Could you please help us investigate the cause?

The customer wrote the Bin file again and the behavior changed.

They have confirmed that the source side (USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01) can now output 9V.

However, when we checked the negotiation process, so the source only requested 5V from sink side.

We don't understand why this is.

The content of the customer's config file and the config file in the post above are different.
The customer settings are below.

However, my customer reported that after changing the setting of item 3, which seemed irrelevant, to 27W (9V), it output 27W without any problem.

The difference from the above post is that the connection is to the customer's system.

In the post above items 2 and 3 have the same 27W setting but no connection.

Why is there such a difference in operation depending on the connection destination?

The source does not request from the sink side. The sink would request from the source, which in this case has only one PDO of 5V/3A.

I can see that you have configured your source to also have a PDO of 9V/3A, but that does not seem to show in the PD log. How are you loading the configuration onto the EVM?

EVM acted as source.

They loaded the bin file generated from the GUI.
