Dear Specialists,
My customer is considering TPS23730 and has a question.
I would be grateful if you could advise.
---
If the connected PSE only supports up to IEEE.802.3at or af, how would it be classified?
In our case, CLSA=32Ω and CLSB=130Ω for using CLASS6.
Since CLSA = 32Ω, is it set to CLASS4?
Could you please let me know which category will be.
---
I appreciate your great help in advance.
Best regards,
Shinichi
Hi Shinichi,
Yes, it would be set to Class 4 for PSE that supports IEEE802.3at. Since the customer is not using a PSE that supports IEEE.802.3bt, then the number of class cycles would not be 4 or greater, which effectively nullifies the use of CLSB. Therefore since CLSA = 32Ω, the PD would be set to Class 4.

Hi Nahiyan,
Thank you for your reply.
I understand.
In this case, it will be Class 4.
I'll share this with the customer.
I appreciate your great help and cooperation.
Best regards,
Shinichi
