TPS65987D: How to upload the bin file to TPS65987D through I2C?

Hello,

I am designing with board, in which used this chip, because the space is very limited, so will not use one external flash, we want to upload the bin file through I2C of one external MCU. I had found one ticket in which mentioned https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/slvubh2b/slvubh2b.pdf#page=135, but I will still do not understand how to do this? Is there any more detailed document to describe this?

Hi,

I am using Tps65987D + TUSB1046 to support the DP alt mode. I found two reference: TPS65987EVM and TUSB1046EVM-008 HSDC008-002. But then are only half design, I should merge them together. How to download Application Customization tool's bin file to Tps65987D ? Have to use one external Flash?

Yes, you will need to use one external flash for TPS65987.

Hi,

I had got the test board in hand. I am trying to make it to work.

If could not use TPS65987D'I2C to control TUSB1046, does this mean have to disable TUSB1046's I2C port,(Set I2C_EN=0)? Then use GPIO mode?

And another question, in the application customization tool, can do Device-> Export setting to Device Ram, does this mean it's possible to use one external CPU instead of one flash?

I would assume so but please check with the redriver team as I am not familiar with the TUSB device.

This is only possible with the GUI. I highly recommend to still use a SPI flash.
