BQ76940: Current detection will experience fluctuations in cell balance

Part Number: BQ76940

Dear Expert

The bit in the specification book is only used to control the collection of temperature and voltage. Previously, when there were current fluctuations, disable this bit during equalization, and enable this bit when reading voltage, current, and temperature, resulting in current fluctuations; If this bit is not disabled during equilibrium, there will be no current fluctuations .

This is the data collected by AFE and displayed by the upper computer during 7A charging; Blue represents the actual data collected by AFE without filtering, while orange represents the filtered data .So there is actually no current fluctuation

So when balancing, disable this ADC_ Will EN have an impact on current collection?

  • Hello Gabriel,

ADC_EN does not need to be disabled during cell balancing. It can remain ON and the device will perform measurements periodically. I have not really seen the effects of enabling it during cell balancing, but this bit may have to be disabled/enabled outside cell balancing in order to not affect anything.

Is the customer okay with the filtered data?

    Best Regards,
