TPS65987D: Recommended for high power battery bank?

Hi,

We are looking at making a higher powered single port USBC PD battery bank capable of sinking and sourcing profiles up to 100W through its single type C connection.

Ideally we would pair it with a BQ charging chip for USB OTG and battery charging.

Is the TPS65987D recommended for this sort of product, and can it be easily configured to work with a BQ charging chip?

If not, is there another chip/architecture that would be recommended?

Hi Nate,

The TPS25750 would be the best device to use here. This PD controller can be paired directly with certain battery chargers to help with the configuration and programming. The following EVM shows this PD + BQ pairing. https://www.ti.com/tool/USB-PD-CHG-EVM-01

The best battery charger to use that the TPS25750 offers support for would be the BQ25731 as the BQ25792 is better catered towards medium power applciations
