BQ40Z50: the operation of pressing switch between 4P and PACK+

Hello! I have a question about  the schematic of BQ40z50.As shown in below picture, there is a switch between 4P and PACK+. In my opinion, PACK+ may sense the voltage from 4P through pressing the switch S1.Therefore, the BQ40z50 may startup.By the way, does the operation of pressing switch exist in practical applications?

    Hello,

    You are correct, pressing the switch (S1) will apply a voltage at the Pack pin which will wake the device from shutdown mode.

    This is a common question. The only way the device will wake from shutdown is if a voltage is temporary present at the PACK pin. Therefore, if your applications required shutdown, you will need to design a wake up circuitry. See this THREAD for more insight.
