TPS543B20: Schematics review

Part Number: TPS543B20
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS543C20A, TPS543C20

Hi Team,

1. I am using TPS543B20RVFT in a stacked configuration and the design parameters are mentioned as below:

Vin=12V

Vout=0.85V

Iout=50A

I  have attached the circuit design and would like to get it reviewed by TI experts.

2. What is the High-level input voltage of Enable pin.

Thanks,

Shifali N

  • Hi Shifali,

    Our US team will reply you next Monday.

  • Hi Shifali,

    I do not see any issues with this design. The only recommendation I have is the same as the one mentioned in the TPS543C20 review - that having a placeholder for a feedforward capacitor will allow for more flexibility. If you want the flexibility to adjust the design on the fly, then it may be worth including placeholders for a resistor divider and feedforward capacitor. This would include a top resistor between VOUT and RSP (shorted with 0Ohm), a bottom resistor between RSP and RSN (unpopulated), and a feed-forward capacitor (unpopulated) in parallel with RSP.

    Best regards,

    Britton

  • Hi Britton,

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Please let  me know what is the High-level input voltage of Enable pin. Can I power On this IC using 1.2V signal in this Enable pin.

    Thanks,

    Shifali N

  • Shifali,

    No, you will not be able to use a 1.2V signal for EN. The threshold for EN is 1.6V +/- 0.15V. This can be found on page 7 of the datasheet.

    Best regards,

    Britton
