Requesting Assistance for Upgrading TI Power Electronics Board Documentation For NI ELVIS III

Hello,

I am reaching out to you from the Technical Support Team at NI to request, if possible, some assistance from your end. I am currently working with a customer who recently purchased several TI Power Electronics Boards for NI ELVIS III and noticed that the documentation does not match the current state of this board. Both the user and Lab Manuals state that jumper J7 in the AC-DC section must be present on these devices as shown in the image below:

However, we have confirmed that this element was removed from the latest revision of the schematic (2019) and was replaced with a capacitor. While we understand this does not affect the board functionality, we believe it is important to update the documentation to avoid any confusion from customers. After consulting with my colleagues at NI and AJ Celania from TI, they advised to use this channel to elevate this request. Therefore, we were wondering if you were the right people to help us modify the documentation. If this is not the case, could you please let us know who can assist us with this?

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide!

FYI, I have attached the current versions of both the Lab and the user manuals so you can validate the information.

  • Oswaldo,

There was a similar question asked within the E2E forum here. The support for TI hardware made specifically for NI points back to NI. I don't believe this hardware was developed within an IC product line or business unit but was likely developed by a specific design service team. The E2E forum is supported and maintained by various product lines within TI which I doubt will be able to provide support through this forum. I'll ask some of the design service team members within my contacts but in the meantime, I suggest to also copy your inquiry into the customer support center here.

    Regards,

    Steve

  • Thank you so much for your feedback Steve. I will go ahead and create a support request as you suggested. If you receive any updates from your contacts, please let me know. That would be really appreciated.
