Hi Franziskus,

For single port solutions we have TPS65987D and TPS25750/1. TPS65987D supports PD power up to 100W (20V/5A) and alternate modes such as Display Port, TBT, and USB4. TPS25750 (and the next generation version which is TPS25751) only supports power-only application (no alternate mode support).

I just checked the TPS65987D, and this device is only rated from -10°C to 75°C which is way too less since they need full -40 to 85°C temperature range.
The TPS25751 with no alternate mode is no alternative as well.

What about using TPS65994AD with just one port?
Does this make sense?

Hi Franziskus,

The TPS65987DDK is going to have a larger operating temperature range (-40 to +85) so it should meet the customer's requirement. It also includes support for Alternate Modes such as Display Port and is a single-port PD.

is the -40 to +85C support of TPS65987DDK coming soon?
Will this be a new device? ti.com does not reflect this.

Not sure if the posts are related., I am just covering for a colleague.

I read there is no timeline for the extended temp range.
I need a timeline to promote the device.

adding feedback to my question above:

TPS65987DDK seems to be usable only for devices not for host ports.
Datasheet of TPS65987D seems to be the right of the family but it is -10-75°C.

Hi Franziskus,

Currently we do not have a timeline for when TPS65987DDK will support the extended operating temperature range.

TPS65987D is configurable for both host and device platforms, configuration is done through the GUI tool that can be downloaded on the product page.

with that, I figure the only solution we have today is the TPS65994AD used with just one port.

Is there anything that needs to be considered when using the TPS65994AD with just one port.
