Hi Jeff,
Thank you for reaching out. The customer is sunix and application is PD, right?
What is the input voltage range? What is the output voltage and corresponding maximum current? What is PN of C162-C164? I will give you feedback after getting the spec.
Regards,
Mulin
Hi Mulin,
Yes.
Input = 12V
Output = 20V@5A
C162-C164 is normal MLCC.
Thanks!
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
Below is my feedback about schematic.
1. Make sure to connect SCL and SDA to VCC/3.3V with 2.2kohm resistor
2. Recommend to add RC snubber in SW1 and SW2 pin. 2ohm(1206 or two 0805 parallel). Strongly recommend to ensure RC snubber in SW2 populated,
3. In PD application, recommend to add to 10 ohm resistor between ISN/ISP pins and sense resistor to filter noise.
4. Recommend to put C135 outside R147 as below for stability.
5. ESR of C133 is 260mohm in 25C. In low temperature, this value will increase a lot and will affect loop stability. Recommend to choose a EC with smaller ESR(<50mohm in 25C)
6. Recommend to change R152 to 26.4k to set 12.5A current limit. Also the Isat of the inductor is 13A. This can protect inductor from saturating in transient occasions. This advice is based on Vin_min=12V. If Vin_min is lower, please let me know.
7. Recommend compensation parameters: R150=25k, R142=4.7nF, C141=220pF. As I mentioned in advice 5, in low temperature, there might be instability. If customer decide to change EC, please let me know and I will recommend new parameters.
I will give you layout feedback later today. Thank you for your waiting.
Regards,
Mulin
Hi Jeff,

Attached is the layout feedback. Update advice4 in last reply: Both C133 and C135 are recommended to move outside R147.
