LMG3522R030: What driver circuit when driving LMG35xx directly from LM5xxx Buck or Boost controller?

Part Number: LMG3522R030
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5156,

Team,

Customer would like to implement a BOOST with LMG35xxx drieven by an analog controller.

Assuming that LM5156 would be used as controller what driver circuit would you recommend between LM5156 and LMG3522R030?

I tried to check different LMG35xx based TIDA/PMPs but it seems to often use an ISO7xxx output (powered by an 12V auxiliary supply) driven from an MCU PWM:

Do you have an example for a "direct" drive from an analog controller?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

  • Hey Anthony,

The LMG352X devices have integrated driver. This means for the no driver is necessary to drive the device just a signal. If the LMG352X is only being used as a low side device no isolation is necessary. If the LMG352X device is also being used as the high side device then the high side device will need a digital isolator.

    Best,
