Dear Team,
1. Does HD3SS3220RNHR have USB Compliance ID?
2. There is a new project, which also uses HD3SS3220RNHR.
Could you please help us get our motherboard to LAB to test the USB3.0 compliance?
Many Thanks,
Jimmy

Hi Jimmy,
The HD3SS3220 is only a MUX and does not have a USB compliance ID.
Have we reviewed the schematic and layout for this project? Our lab has the ability to test TX compliance but not RX compliance.
You can ship the board to me at the following address:
Shane Hauser 12500 TI Blvd, MS D4000 Dallas TX 75243.
Best,
Shane
Hi Shane,
We appreciated your great support.
HD3SS3220 has both MUX and Type-C DRP port controller function.
So we want to confirm if it has a USB compliance ID.
The schematic/layout of previous project has been reviewed.
And the new project only changes the module (P4.) and doesn’t change power and USB design.
I have sent the file over mail for your reference.
If you have any comment please let me know, Thanks a lot.
Many Thanks,
Jimmy
Thanks Jimmy,
So we want to confirm if it has a USB compliance ID.
Only USB hosts and hubs use a USB Test ID (I assume this is what you are referring to by compliance ID). The 3220 does not have one.
I don't see any issues with the 3220 in the schematic. If the layout hasn't changed from what was reviewed then go ahead and ship the board here.
Any images or descriptions you can give for which port(s) you need tested will help. Like I mentioned before we can do TX compliance but not RX compliance.
Best,
Shane
Hi Jimmy,
I aligned with our team, and we actually can perform RX compliance. Please ship the board as soon as you are able and provide the tracking number. Thanks!
Best,
Shane
Dear Shane,
Thanks for your great support always!
Thank you for the confirmation of the USB ID.
The layout we modified some routing between module and 3220 because the replacement of module, please find your mail.
We will update the details of our USB port setting. I will ask customer sent the board to you. Thanks a lot!
Many Thanks,
Jimmy
Hi Jimmy,
Hope you are doing well. I did a review of the layout and I'll attach it here. I included a few recommendations to improve the layout if the board does not pass compliance.
Can you confirm whether you are operating at 5Gbps or 10Gbps? I assumed in my review that you are using 10Gbps data for the loss calculation.
We can run compliance testing when the board arrives. Let me know if there are any updates.
Best,
Shane
Hi Jimmy,
I see you don't plan to send the board here anymore. Do you need anything else on our end?
If you don't have anymore questions, I'll go ahead and resolve the thread.
Best,
Shane
