Why should the grounds be connected individually?

    Hi Ryusuke,

    Sorry for the confusion, they do not need to be all individually grounded, however they do need to be connected to a different ground plane that is not connected to the negative side of the battery. The other devices can share that ground plane. This is for ESD and noise protection for the device.

    More information can be found in the bq28z610EVM Users Guide, where are design files for the EVM can be found. This can provide a visual example.
