BQ34Z100: Data retention during power cycling BQ34Z100

Hi team,

I was successful in calibrating the fuel gauge bq34z100 to my required values and it shows pretty accurate voltage and current values. The issue is all those set values reset to default when I power cycle the fuel gauge. The data flash parameters remain intact but the calibrated values are lost and I have to recalibrate the gauge to see correct values again.

Kindly tell me what can be the reason for the fuel gauge to not be able to retain the calibrated values.

Hi Shreya,

What version of the FW are you using?

Please verify that the calibration parameter wrote are reflected in properly in data flash.

Some parameters require a soft_restart to take effect.

Please try and use advanced comms to read and write.

HeyEvan,

I am using FW version bq34z100_v2_02_00_31. The battery specification parameters in data flash are visible even after power cycling (gas gauging and configuration paramters in DATA MEMORY). The calibration offsets are changing I belive and hence it reverts to default current and voltage values as I try to read them after power cycling.

Just to be sure, by soft reset you mean passing the RESET(0x40) COMMAND?
