BQ79606A-Q1: Safety mechanisms selection in FMEDA calculation tool

Part Number: BQ79606A-Q1

Dear...

When we using FMEDA calculation tool, we have question in sheet: Function and Diag Tailoring

For exampe:

For Part H9, there are many failure modes in <Function and Diag Tailoring>, as shown in the following picture:

And for Part:H9, there are several safety mechanism combination can cover H9's failure mode, describe in <Diagnostic Coverage>, as shown in the following picture:

In the column M of picture 1, for different failure mode of H9, it has a default safety mechanism combination to cover it, as shown in picture 1. But there is safety mechanism in our project, for example, the SM404 and SM233 is not need and not used in our project, but we used OT comparator in our project, so SM405 is need.

So for failure mode: OVUV, OTUT fault not captured by fault status register of H9 in picture 1 Row 581, it seems related with safety, we need to chose 'Yes' in column K of picture 1, but the default Selected Safety Mechanisms in column M of picture 1 is not satisfied because it include SM404 and SM233.

So can we chose other Safety Mechanism Combination like described in picture 2 to cover this failure mode? and how to determine which one or some of them is is appropriate? Because the column M has other values to choose from.

Or what's your suggestion for this situation?

We have a lot same situation like this need to confirm in our project, so I need to ask and get a feedback for this question.

Thank you.
