LM5050-1: LM5050-1: Lm5050-1 leakage current

Part Number: LM5050-1

Hello,

regarding the circuit solution proposed in the datasheet for Reverse Input Voltage Protection With IQ Reduction:

Diode D3 has Average Rectified Forward Current = 1A and MOSFET Q2 has (Max) Continuous Drain Current = 2.2A.

I ask, is it not enough to use, for example, a diode with Average Rectified Forward Current ≈ 0.25-0.3A and a MOSFET with (Max) Continuous Drain Current ≈ 0.17-0.2A?

Thank you,
Best regards.
