BQ76952: when disconnect the C/DMOS during discharge will cause the BQ76952 POR

Part Number: BQ76952

Tool/software:

Dear Expert

The customer test with BQ76952, they found that when disconnect the C/DMOS during discharge will cause the BQ76952 POR,and discharge current is 40A.

They read the battery status register and found that the POR is set. As long as the chip is restarted, it will return to normal.

This phenomenon only occurs when the MOS is disconnected in the discharge state, and it will not occur when the MOS is disconnected in the charge state.

They found that SRP will have a about ±3V ringing with VSS .And they connected a 1nF capicitor to reduce the ringing ,it will solve the POR .

  • Hello,

The likely reason the device keeps resetting is the recommended maximum of SRP and SRN pins are being violated by the transient:

Adding a capacitor is the recommended solution. It is recommended to use a .1uF capacitor. However, if the customer evaluates with a 1nF capacitor and finds that it works, that is okay as well.

    Best regards,
