TPS92682-Q1: TPS92682 startup time setting

Part Number: TPS92682-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello, Experts.

I have a project using TPS92682 to test the voltage of COMP pin and VOUT pin. When testing the startup time, I found that the voltage of COMP pin had a drop process, which was normal, the startup time parameter I set is 0001: Division factor = 2, please tell me if this setting is reasonable?

  • Hello Lin,

Please try higher setting for SS like 0010 or 0011.  The key to soft-start is not pulling high current to charge the output caps to one get an over current on IS or two pulling too high of input current from the supply source.  Please monitor the current and use the appropriate setting for you.

    Thanks Tuan

  • hi

Thank you. I have modified the soft start parameters now. Here are some of my tests. I try to modify the soft start parameters, I found that the VCOMP pin dropped for a while by comparing the waveform in the manual with the waveform I measured myself. What is the possible reason for this drop? And why the COMP pin voltage has a bump when I set the 0010.

    BLUE:VOUT

    YELLOW: COMP

  • Hello,

There is a bump because the compensation (COMP) is the error and trying to ramp up to get the voltage to the set level.  The drop in comp from the 00010001 setting is due to a fault of over current on IS.  From your scope capture, either the 01110111 or 1111111 is appropriate.

    Thanks Tuan
