TPS922053: Is it possible to modify FSET using an DAC?

Tool/software:

Dear support,

In the datasheet of this chip, the FSET is set by a resistor.

We were wondering if it is possible to supply a reference voltage to the FSET pin by an DAC on our connected microcontroller to increase efficiency at different dimming levels.

Kind regards, Michiel

edit: I mean DAC of course instead of ADC

  • Hi Michiel,

Sorry. I am currently out of office. I will reply to you tomorrow when I am back to office. Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,
    Steven

  • Hi Michiel,

Sorry for the late response. Please refer to my comments below:

You cannot supply a reference voltage to the FSET pin.

One possible way is to use an array of FSET resistors with some MOSFETS to switch between different switching frequency settings.
