TPS25750: Enter PTCH mode without an EEPROM to load from MCU

Part Number: TPS25750
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: , TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi,

We have currently working on the TPS25750EVM to make sure the TPS25750 will work on our product. We know the TPs25751 exist and might change in the future, but from what I understand, they both work in the same way. We are trying to load a batch file into the volatile memory of the TPS25750 using the I2Cs from the MCU.

The problem we encounter is that we can't get to the 'PTCH' mode on the evaluation board. I don't think "Safe mode" can reach 'PTCH', but can "AlwaysEnableSink" reach it? We do not want to use the "NegociateHighVoltage" as our system does not want to work on voltages higher than 5V.

Is there a way to reset the board in 'PTCH' mode if needed?

Thank you,

Marc-Antoine Dion
